As a matter of fact, I tried the very same test you mentioned with my work laptop (IBM Lenovo). I was unable to boot to the CD/DVD sent by Acer. On the other hand I am able to boot to another Win7 disc. Klyuch dlya antipampers prof v32 01444654 pro. Because this was a work laptop I didn't want to complete the process. I honestly think the issue is the recovery disc Acer is sending out. As I mentioned before, everyone can't be having the same issue and Acer just keep sending out worthless recovery software. I bet if I called them again (which I don't plan to do), they will gladly send me another set of worthless disc.
SSD upgrade for Acer Iconia Tab W500. You can use these recovery DVD’s to restore the Windows 7 setup to factory default. Get a new recovery disk set from.
This is a very POOR customer service from Acer.
