Click to expand.Well to be honest mate, there were no yanks at Pegasus bridge.AND its a bit different when the scene is set in a movie about the whole of D day with similar time given to John Wayne taking us para drop areas and swamp landings etc.pegasus bridge part was just one part of the movie.Without starting a war.the usual American ones folk talk of have no mention of Brits at all. Longest day gives equal time to both. Canadians losing out in general though. If there were yanks at pegasus they would surely have been shown. Again that series of clips were but a segment of overall allied actions in that movie. So bringing up against some other movies isnt that fair. Its interesting to me to point out that the originator of this thread has made only one posting here and not contributing more to HIS own thread.
Anyway, some of my favorite scenes in this movie include: 1) The assault on Pont du Hoc. Especially the scenes where they scale the cliffs and then fight their way towards that bunker/gun emplacement-only to find no guns ever being mounted there. 2) Absolutely love the scenes where that American patrol passes a German patrol on opposite sides f that stone wall-while both groups look up at the sound of airplanes engines and not paying any attention to each-other until that one soldier with the Tommugun realizes they were Germans. 3) Loved the Pegasus Bridge scenes.

4) Loved the 'Pips' Priller-beach-strafing scenes. 5) Red Buttons Church Steeple scenes. 6) The French fighting at Ouisterham scenes.
7) The scenes with Richard Burton and that American Paratrooper. Great lines by Burton. 8) The dummy paratrooper scenes where the German call for reinforcements. 9) The Kenneth More 'Beachmaster scenes that also had Sean Connery in them. 10) Finally, great Robert Mitchum beach scenes-where he says: 'The only men that will stay on this beach are dead men'-or something like that?;-)).
